London in the rain

only 4 more days

rain

Hi there
Only four days remain--then home, sweet home. Most are ready to come home, bed at home is sounding pretty good right now. All eight girls have been sharing a room--so I am sure that the space and quiet of their own rooms will be appreciated. We also are looking forward to non-lumpy beds.
Yesterday tipped with rain--so we did the Victoria and Albert, the Natural History and the Science Museums. Today is sunning--so off to Hyde Park for the day. Monday is the London Museum and ???, Monday evening we are having supper out to celebrate Sarah Marsh's 18th, Tuesday Kaeleigh heads off to Toronto and we wash, clean and pack for home, with a last minute chance to "shop" (although I do think they should be shopped out by now).
Otherwise, all is well.
Take care, they will be home soon.

London August 8th

Almost over

overcast

Hi there
Been busy. On Wednesday the Pathfinders left us for home--they arrived save and sound and had a great night sleep in their own beds--ah, can't wait.

We traveled by bus to Bath (3 hours there) and Stonehenge. Had a great time, very interesting history and a chance to see the English countryside.
Yesterday we did the Hop on Bus around London and took a river cruise to Greenwich--pretty town, nice boat ride.
Today, we finished off the hop on and let the girls fly on their own. They all went off together and returned on time! Safe and sound.
The plan is to let them loose again on Monday so they can finish off the various Museums, shopping etc that they want to do (without us)
since they now know their way around the buses and underground. So far-so good.
Tomorrow--weather permitting--off to the last of the museums and walk around the Thames, art galleries etc.. If nice on Sunday-- Hyde Park to have a picinic, Monday--last of running around and celebrating Sarah M's 18th birthday with a nice dinner, Kaeleigh leaves us on Tuesday and the rest will be cleaning and trying to pack (cram) their backpacks for the trip home. Not long now.
Well--off for now.
Cheers
Colleen

BP House/London, England

We will be here until the end

Hi there--
Surprise--we were able to get on the computer tonight.

Slept in--had a lazy morning, did some laundry(just in time, the machine broke down shortly afterward). Went to Covent Gardens for most of the day. Returned to BP House and the girls went off to the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. Dinner was great--pasta, pizza and other things teenagers like to eat.
Several are playing Bananagrams and Rummykub at the moment, others are on the computer, phone or just hanging out.
Tomorrow is Westminister Abbey then the Tate and other galleries along the Thames.
Wednesday will be the surprise we have planned--more later.

It has been raining for the past day or so, not hard--just enough to get damp.
Will send more as time allows--all are alive, eating well and coping well, should bring them all home alive!

take care--catch you all later.

London

overcast

Hi there
Been awhile since I have been able to get on the computer. Almost had one sent in Ireland--just had it ready and the computer crashed.
Anyhow, loved Ireland all would like to return.
Now in London and just finished up our 6 day London Pass, now done allot of the touristy things. London Bridge, Tower of London, Windsor Castle, Hampton Court, HMS Belfast, London Zoo and numerous other venues. We have also been to the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, the National Museum and the National Portrait Gallery--places they want to return too.
The play--Wicked was loved by one and all, a fun experience and first play for some.
We have booked a surprise trip on Wednesday--more about that on Thursday--don't want to give away the secret! Be a day trip out of London and should be great.
There have been a couple of melt downs--handled-- moving on! Not lots of sleep for the leaders--can do once we get home.
Well--don't have much time on the computer--lots of others waiting, so will try to update again soon.
Money is holding out ok for most--I am sure that you have heard if that is not the case from your daughter!
Take care, more later.
